Privacy Policy

Hidely helps you keep photos and videos in a private area on your device. This notice describes the current local-only version, based on the existing in-app policy. Features mentioned on our website may be under development or offered separately.

1. Photos and videos

Photos and videos you import or capture, as well as local albums, favorites, recently deleted items and duplicate-detection fingerprints, are stored in the app's private local storage. In the local-only version, we do not upload your vault contents to our servers or provide cloud backup. The operating system's app sandbox protects these files; this version does not add a separate file-encryption layer.

2. Device information and settings

The app stores file metadata, album organization, your settings and vault access preferences on your device. Your vault passcode is stored in the operating system's secure storage. When biometric unlocking is enabled, your device performs the biometric check; Hidely does not receive your face or fingerprint data.

3. Permissions

• Photos: to import photos or export copies when you request it.
• Camera and microphone: to capture photos and videos, including sound when permitted.
• Notifications: to deliver notifications if you grant permission.
• Tracking permission: the iPhone version may display a system prompt, but the version described by the existing policy does not use the advertising identifier for ads or cross-app analytics.

4. Notifications and third parties

If push notifications are configured, the app may request a push token through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google). The token does not contain your vault photos or videos. When you export or share content using the iOS share interface, copies are sent only to destinations you choose and are then subject to those destinations' policies.

5. NFC physical keys

Hidely is designed to support optional paired physical NFC keys for local access verification. Availability and implementation can vary by app version. NFC keys are not required to use the basic vault. This section will be updated when NFC pairing is released and actual key data handling is confirmed.

6. Optional account, subscriptions and cloud backup

The product roadmap includes optional Premium subscriptions and encrypted backup and restore. These are not covered by the existing local-only privacy policy. Before these services launch, this policy must be updated to explain account identifiers, backup storage providers, encryption and recovery, retention, and payment processing. Subscription transactions, when available, are managed through Apple's purchase system and applicable service providers.

7. Deletion

Removing an item from the vault may move it to Recently Deleted. Permanently deleting an item removes the local file and record. Uninstalling Hidely removes data stored within the app's private folder, but not copies already exported or shared elsewhere. If cloud backup becomes available, its deletion options will be described separately.

8. Ads and children

The current local-only version does not sell personal information, display ads, or use the content of your vault for analytics. Hidely is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
